About 'Ivan Megharoopan'

IVAN MEGHAROOPAN

'Ivan Megharoopan" brings to mind the story of the most prolific Malayalam poet, Mahakavi P, for whom poetry was life itself. The lofty spirituality reflected in his creative works, even as he immersed himself in sensual pleasures, gave glimpses of a soul which was at once saddled with its Gods and demons. He was a man who loved his poetry, his women and his poetic universe with a blinding passion which spawned a large body of work, randomly written on streets, trains and buses. The shadow play of indulgence and regret in his mind gave an immense range and depth to his creativity. He remained a prisoner of his abstract world, presenting pain to those that sought his love and spreading sweetness to the least expected. But for his poetic life, this film would not have been possible; however, "Ivan Megharoopan" is not his story…
