“An Evening with Dancing Stars” is an annual event showcasing the accomplishments and talent of the students of Sampada’s Dance Studio. The main objective of the event is to give the performers an opportunity to display their talent and gain onstage confidence. It is also a way of giving back to the community in the form of wholesome entertainment for the students’ families and friends as well as anyone who enjoys dance.

Sampada’s Dance Studio (SDS) is based in Singapore and focuses on the Bollywood dance form with a modern twist. Founder and choreographer Sampada teaches elegant Bollywood dance to ladies and children in all age groups and with different skill levels in dance. Sampada’s rich experience as a performer and dance teacher  helps her students feel the magic of true dance with great fun and easy-to-follow dance steps. SDS dance classes help students enhance their dancing skills and develop dance as a hobby for fitness and fun. Sampada and her students have performed in a large number of events in Singapore. These include performances in the Chingay Parade, President’s Charity Show and at Mediacorp TV.

An Evening with Dancing Stars 2013 will be held on Saturday 28 September 2013, 6-8 PM, in the beautiful concert hall of the Paya Lebar Girls Methodist Secondary School. This year’s event is themed to present the rich cultural diversity of the different states of India through the popular “Bollywood” dance style. The show will feature about 150 “dancing stars”. Performers include children, teenagers and adults – the youngest a bubbly 2 & half year old toddler and the oldest an equally bubbly 50 year old mom! While the majority of our performers come from an Indian background, we also count Singaporean, Malaysian, European, Arab, African and Australian performers among us – proof of the universal popular appeal of Bollywood dance!

Sampada’s Dance Studio (SDS) invite all to attend our event and encourage the development of Dance as a hobby in our society.
