August 7 declared a public holiday for SG50 celebrations

Singapore :President Tony Tan has declared Aug 7 a public holiday, and there will be an "extended Jubilee Weekend" from Aug 7 to Aug 10, as part of SG50 celebrations, announced the SG50 Steering Committee in a press release on today (March 14)

“This means more time for Singaporeans to come together as one big Singapore family and commemorate our Jubilee. During this Jubilee Weekend, Singaporeans can look forward to special programmes islandwide to celebrate our family, our friends and our home. We also have special concessions at public attractions and facilities” stated the press release.
