Kalyan silks to open showroom in Singapore

Kalyan Silks will open showrooms in  Singapore,Sri Lankaand Malaysia in the next two years, followed by the induction of a string of outlets across the GCC countries.

Kalyan Silks, the world leader in silk, had an auspicious start on September 12, getting flooded with hundreds of customers on Day 1 itself.The showroom was jointly inaugurated by Kannada superstar Shivaraj Kumar and the young all-rounder actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The expansion plans within the country will be powered by a capital investment of `250 crore while another `150 crore are earmarked for the network expansion activities outside India.

“Bangalore has many stores that sell silk saris. But Kalyan Silks is special. I came to buy one sari, but ended up picking three. The varieties are splendid. And the staff is also knowledgeable and friendly,” says Parvathi Venkatesh, who was at the store shopping for Ganesh Chaturthi.

Kannada superstar Shivaraj Kumar said that Kalyan Silks is a great brand and that he is proud to be the state’s brand ambassador. The 30,000sqft. showroom, which is Kalyan Silks’ first showroom in India outside Kerala, is located near Safina Plaza, on Commercial Street and showcases over two lakh bridal saris and a wide range of menswear, ladies’ wear, party wear and kidswear.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, the brand ambassador of Kalyan Silks, said, “It is an honour to be a part of one of the few heritage brands from Kerala that have gone global.”

Kalyan Silks prides itself in nine world-class showrooms in Kerala and one in Dubai. By the end of 2013, Kalyan Silks plans to add many more world-class showrooms to its portfolio. Two of the new outlets will be in Kerala, in Thiruvalla and 
Thiruvananthapuram.

Kalyan Silks considers Karnataka as one of its major markets and will open four more world-class showrooms across the state. The new showrooms will come up in Mangalore, Mysore, Hubli and Belgaum.
