If you love art, indulge yourself and enjoy exquisite paintings by twenty-five artists form various Indian communities in Singapore this week. An exhibition, ‘Varnam 2016’, organised by the Singapore Malayalee Association (SMA) with support from the National Arts Council (NAC), will feature over 150 paintings in a variety of media – oil, acrylic, charcoal, ink, etc.

The exhibition is one of the initiatives of SMA to encourage art and culture, and provides a platform for its members to showcase their talents. A well-received event by art enthusiasts in the past three years, this year the exhibition includes paintings by artists from other local Indian communities as well.

In line with SMA’s commitment to contribute to the community, it has chosen Very Special Arts (VSA) as the beneficiary organisation that Varnam 2016 will support. VSA is a registered charity organisation in Singapore that integrates individuals with disabilities into mainstream society through the arts.

Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth and Ministry of Trade and Industry will inaugurate the exhibition on 10 Nov 2016 at 6.30pm. All are welcome.
