Singapore-based Malayali Shilpa Krishnan Shukla is an independent film maker focusing on self-funded low budget films. Her most recent work “Pularum Iniyum Naalekal’ (“There’s Always Tomorrow”) had gone 28 film festivals around the world, garnering 11 awards including those of Best Film, Best Director, Best Story, Best Cinematography, Best Music and Best Editing. The film now finally comes to Singapore.

Pularum Iniyum Naalekal is entirely shot in UAE. The shoot was completed over the span of 1 week by a 5-member team that included the cast and crew. The bulk of the post production was done virtually across Singapore, India and UAE. The two leads in the film Balaraman Kunduvara and Gayathri Gopal are also Malayalis based in Singapore.

The film revolves around ex-lovers Anthony & Durga, who are now happily settled in their respective marriages. The two have a chance meeting after a gap of eight years, a meeting that unexpectedly turns into one that of self-discovery and new beginnings. It is a simple tale set in the picturesque backdrop of deserts and oases, reaffirms that with a little openness to new perspectives and a dash of optimism, life is a beautiful journey of possibilities.

Shilpa Krishnan Shukla has been pursuing film making as a passionate hobby and writes, produces and directs her films. Focusing on zero budget, independent productions, she has made an award winning feature “Mausams” that went to film festivals around the world, short films including the Malayalam viral hit “Inganeyum Oru Katha” as well as Malayalam online sitcom “Athazham”. Shilpa is a full time Marketing Director in a healthcare company and lives in Singapore with her husband and 4 year old daughter. She is an avid reader, a trained Indian classical dancer, a talented sketching artist and a yoga enthusiast.
