Singapore: 2015 will be a momentous year as Singapore marks the 50th Anniversary of its independence. To be part of the  Golden Jubilee celebrations of Singapore, the Malayalee residents of Singapore plan to organise several activities in 2015. All registered Malayalee organisations of Singapore will be  coming together for organising these events; a Steering Committee was formed with members of all these organisations to coordinate the events. See below few ideas that are being  considered by the steering committee

Week/Month long celebrations with a grand finale event after National Day to showcase Malayalam arts and culture

Honoring pioneer Malayalee pioneers who had largely contributed to Singapore and to publish Coffee Table Booklet and Documentary on Malayalees’ contributions in the past 50 years.

Create a major art work on a single large canvas by Malayalee artists in Singapore

Fund raising for bursary or charities in the name of Singapore Malayalee community

Set up Malayalam Library or donate 5000 Malayalam books to National Library etc.

The committee would like to gather ideas and suggestions from Singapore residents on various activities that can be organized to enhance the celebrations. The committee would like to launch this program with a generic title for this campaign.  The rules and regulations are explained below:

Rules and Regulations
1.    The proposed title should go along with the SG50 logo and will be related to Malayalee community, its culture or contributions to Singapore in the past. This finalized title will be used for all the celebrations coordinated by the committee.
2.    Participant must be a resident of Singapore
3.    Please include a short paragraph (20- 100 words, either in English or Malayalam) explaining the rationale for the proposed title together with your submission.
4.    Please include your particulars (name, and contact details (email and telephone) with  your  submission.
5.    The SG50 Malayalee organisation steering committee  reserves the right to choose all or part of the caption design features, combination from any of the submissions for the final title.
