Prime Minister Modi extends congratulations to Russia’s President Putin on his election victory and pledges to enhance bilateral relations.
In a message of congratulations sent to re-elected Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed anticipation for strengthening ties to cultivate their “special” relationship.
The relationship between New Delhi and Moscow traces back to the Cold War era, and Russia continues to serve as the primary arms supplier to the world’s most populous country. Russia has emerged as India’s leading oil supplier, surpassing the traditional heavyweight exporters from the Middle East.
“Look forward to working together to further strengthen the time-tested Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia in the years to come,” Modi posted on social media platform X.
