Skype announced that, its one of the premium feature – Group Video Call (GVC)- is now free for everyone on Windows desktop, OS X and the Xbox One. This feature makes it easier to share big news with many family members or friends on one call. "Group video calling will be added to more platforms in the future at no cost”, Skype said in a blog post.

Skype introduced group video calls in 2010, supporting group video chats for up to 10 users at once. Initially it was free as beta version but later changed as a premium service in January 2011 at a price of $4.99 for a day or $8.99 per month. Google+ hangout is already here for free group video calls since 2011.
