To celebrate Singapore’s Golden Jubilee as part of the SG50 nationwide celebrations, the Mar Thoma Church will be organizing a Cricket Tournament to celebrate the contributions of migrant workers to our nation on Monday, 10 Aug 2015 at 7.30 AM at Sengkang Field (opposite Palm View Primary School on Sengkang East Road, Bus nos. 43, 109, 156, 159, 161).

This will be an opportunity for us to show these young men that we appreciate their many and varied contributions to our nation and society. It will also be a time of friendship and fellowship through a common love of sports. The Vicar of the Mar Thoma Church, Rev John G Mathews said “ The cricket match offers a unique opportunity for the Church and its members to connect with the migrant workers and to show love and appreciation to them for their many contributions to Singapore.” The Vicar added that he hoped that this inaugural cricket match would be the first of many that will forge new friendships, build understanding and demonstrate our respect for these young men who form a vital segment of Singapore society.
