Singapore premiere film, award-winning and Oscar-nominated movies, comics and topical conferences, catch it all at Alliance Française for the Francophonie Festival 2018!

The Francophonie Festival organised by Alliance Française, French Embassy – Institut Français Singapore and the diplomatic representatives of Belgium, Canada and Switzerland, will be held throughout March at Alliance Française and various other venues across the island. The new edition of the Francophonie Festival is proud to continue the promotion of intercultural dialogue and celebrate the diversity of the French language and francophone communities around the world, through a series of exciting cultural events. Francophonie is not only about the language, but is first and foremost about the spirit.

This year the Festival is bringing promising productions and talent as well as established artists of francophone countries contributing to the unique and vibrant local cultural scene.

The Oscar-nominated movie Faces Places by Agnès Varda and JR, will open the Festival and take you throughout rural France to discover its people. Singapore Francophiles crowd and curious minds will enjoy A Wedding in the presence of Stephan Streker, film director. Conferences will not be neglected: you will have the choice to exchange with Laure Adler (French journalist and writer) Yannick Haenel (French Writer) and Florence Aubenas (French Grand Reporter). The public can also discover the work of Guy Delisle, hailed as “one of the greatest cartoonists of our age” by the guardian during an exhibition dedicated to his work as well as a talk with him (in conjunction with Words Go Round).
