Jaleela Niaz wins International Art Prize Raffaello

Jaleela Niaz, a Singapore based Malayalee artist, has been awarded the International Art Prize Raffaello for her painting “Magical Touch of Nature”. Awarded in the heart of Bologna, the felicitation is a prized one. This award is presented in honour of Raffaello Sanzio (1483-1520) who is considered to be one of the greatest artists of the Italian Renaissance.  Recognition of artistic merit across the globe is the singular purpose of the award. Awards were presented by the International art critics and curators, Salvatore and Francesco Russo. Gloria Keh, a veteran Singaporean artist is another recipient of this award among the winners from Singapore. Celebrities from the world of art and culture graced the event at the iconic and dazzling Gnudi Palace in Bologna, Italy.

 Jaleela was awarded for her intricate and exquisite work “Magical Touch of Nature”. A full-time artist and a part time art teacher, she is known for her mixed –media paintings which are dominated by bold strokes and metallic colours. She has displayed her works in more than 55 exhibitions worldwide. Her upcoming exhibition is for a charity event in Cambodia.

Jaleela, is the wife of Mr. Niaz a project manager in IBM and, daughter of Mr. Syed Mohamed and Meera Beevi. She hails from the district of Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.
