Two dead, one missing in Singapore train construction accident

Singapore: One worker was killed and 8 others injured when a construction project for Singapore’s new Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) saw its temporary scaffolding collapse on Wednesday, local media reported.The local news agency reported that the incident occurred around 7 AM at the new Downtown Line Bugis Station.
 
It said that four of the 8 workers injured in the accident have been released from the hospital where they were being treated for minor injuries.The other four remain at a local hospital and it is unclear how serious their injuries are.
 
The LTA said in a statement that “the scaffolding structure was about four meters high, and that the eight injured workers had been working on top of the structure.”The LTA also said that it would assist the dead worker’s family and “spare no effort to locate the missing worker.”
